Sept 2017

Trying to germinate 2016 spinach in refrigerator.  Transplanted 20+ lettuce seedlings.  Lesson, don't transplant before Labor day.  Kale and kohlrabi seedlings under row cover.

March 27

Transplanted savoy cabbage, red cabbage and broccoli this morning.  Lisa has lettuce and radishes in beds 1 and 2.

Temps have been well below normal for March.  Got 3 inches of snow earlier Sun night? which watered her plantings.

March 18

Lisa got sweet peas and peas planted yesterday.  I got the onion sets in bed 1 Saturday.

I've raised bed 3 and tweaked North quarterplot.  Soil in quarterplot is in good shape, bed 1 not so good, though I hauled 4 barrowloads from the bin last week.  Bed 2 is good shape, except Lisa has radicchio at the one end and the iris at the other.

Lisa has geraniums started and sowed begonia seeds last week.

March 5

The leaves in bed 1 didn't work, so moved them to the path and covered in wood chips.

Quarter plot north is good shape, except for fixing sides of bed.  Need to add wood to bed 3.  Bed 2 is good shape.

Bed 1 has leaves, but dug today (dug last fall)--should be in okay shape in a week or so.

(Snow storm expected tomorrow--weather has been a little on the cool side>)

Nov 27

Have dug bed 1 and covered with leaves and netting.  Dug quarter plot north and added a load from the bins.  Added loads from bin to bed 4 and quarter plot south as well.

The greens are doing well, as are the leeks.  Something I need to remember, but don't.

Dahlias are in, one box of less thriving, including Juanita plus a set of unmarked tubers on top.

For future, the mustards are doing well, the clover is coming along.

Notes for 2013

Peppers:
plant with more distance between them, and if the same varieties as 2012, stake taller

Basil

Don'tput under tomato netting

Tomatoes

Maybe no netting.  Need more support on cages or use twine more

Squash

Use floating row cover
